A Foe? or The Foe
Some say Death is natural, part of life or construct. A fail safe if you may, others say it is a beast, a thief or even a villain. i won't choose or support. Life takes from us, drains us we wake, we eat, we work, we have fun, we eat, we sleep and alas the cycle runs and the fuel? is life. Death may be a thief or another wheel in the machinery of life or! it is just another victim, it waits, lurks in the corner to take a soul whose time has been drawn up, when somehow a higher power decides you have lived enough or circumstances betray you, Death steps in and removes you. It watches life happen, the beauty of a new flower born in the spring, only to take it in the winter, a baby born today to be taken tomorrow, it watches it all, the smiles, the light, the memories each moment makes. And when the time is up, it is always waiting to collect. Note, death does not kill, it only takes what is given to him, when life kicks you out Death opens its wide warm arms and welcomes you in. If you ask me, Death is not the enemy, it's not a friend either, it just is. It should not be feared but accepted. As we come we always go, alone naked and in tears. Such is the construct not a cruel work of art but an acceptable one. Alas it just is.
